I can’t stop ~ing
~하는 것을 멈출 수가 없어요

“I can’t stop ~ing”은 어떤 행동을 계속해서 하게 되는 상황, 즉 스스로 멈추기 어려운 상태를 완곡하게 나타낼 때 쓰는 표현입니다. 여기서 stop ~ing는 ‘~하는 것을 멈추다’라는 의미를 가지죠. 참고로 stop 대신 help를 사용해 “I can’t help ~ing”이라고 말해도 비슷한 뜻을 전달할 수 있습니다.

여자: Wow, that sounds amazing. Okay, now I really have to see it.

남자: Have you listened to the songs people submitted to the AI composition contest this year? They’re all really good.
이번 AI 작곡 공모전에 사람들이 제출한 노래들 들어 봤어? 다 정말 좋더라.
