부모를 하늘 땅 같이 섬기라
하루는 말씀하시기를 “부모를 경애하지 않으면 천지를 섬기기 어려우니라. 천지는 억조창생의 부모요, 부모는 자녀의 천지니라.” 하시고, 또 말씀하시기를 “조상은 아니 위하고 나를 위한다 함은 부당하나니 조상의 제사를 극진히 받들라.
사람이 조상에게서 몸을 받은 은혜로 조상 제사를 지내는 것은 천지의 덕에 합하느니라.” 하시니라.

Revere Your Parents as Heaven and Earth
Sangjenim one day declared, “You cannot serve heaven and earth if you do not revere your own parents. Heaven and earth are the parents of humanity, and parents are the heaven and earth of their children.
Sangjenim also declared, “It is improper that you do not revere your ancestors and instead revere Me, so you must hold ancestral memorial offering rituals with complete
devotion. The holding of ancestral memorial offering rituals by descendants, who received their bodies through the grace of their ancestors, accords with the virtue of heaven and earth.”
