Historical Background of Traditional Eastern Meditation 동방 수행 문화의 역사 배경

Sumer is said to have been the cradle of Western civilization. According to ancient records, Sumerians migrated from the East 6,000 years ago.
In case of Eastern civilization, one of the must-reads for the students of ancient Korean history is the Samgungnyusa (“History of the Three Kingdoms”). In the chapter named ‘Ancient Joseon,’ it clearly states, “Long ago there was Hwanguk.” There was Hwanguk (“Radiant State”), the first nation of the human history, which existed 9,000 years ago.

서양 문명의 근원은 수메르 문명이라고 합니다. 그 사람들은 6천 년 전 동방에서 왔다고 합니다.
동방 문명의 경우, 한국 고대사에 대해 공부할 때 반드시 접하는 삼국유사 고조선의 기록이 있습니다. “석유환국” 인류 최초의 나라, 9천 년 전 광명의 나라 환국이 있었습니다.

Honshan Culture 홍산문화

Hongshan culture, the archaeological remains outside the Great Wall of China, was an independent culture in Northeast Asia which was totally different from China’s Yellow River Civilization. This will dramatically change your point of view on history. It is not generally known to the public but since you came to Korea, this is the history which you should know.

What is Hongshan culture? The Hongshan civilization excavated in China’s Inner Mongolia region was a civilization, dating back as long as 9000 years ago. This civilization is more ancient than the four great civilizations of the world, at least 1-2 thousand years older than the world's first four civilizations that emerged about 5000 years ago. The territory of Hongshan culture was vast, stretching form Northeast Asia to Siberia and Manchuria. Huge remains of sites for memorial rituals were excavated, such as stone tombs, shrines and Heavenly altars. These three elements are the archetypical culture of conducting offering rituals to God in heaven. A round three-tired altar where offering rituals for heaven were held is known as the original form of ancient pyramid culture.

When we look at Hongshan culture of 9000 to 8500 years ago, we see a lot of jade artifacts being discovered. Jade culture symbolizes and represents God’s pure mind.

The Hongshan culture is at least 1-2 thousand years older than the Yellow River culture of China. Hongshan culture is not a Chinese culture. Instead, it is the culture of Korean ancestors. Archaeological finds of Hongshan culture are different from traditional Chinese culture.

중국 만리장성 밖에서 발견된 홍산문화는 황하 문화와 전혀 다른 북방 문화입니다. 이것은 역사관을 바꾸는 중요한 새로운 사실입니다. 이 사실을 지구촌 사람들이 잘 모르고 있지만 한국에 오신 여러분은 반드시 알고 가셔야 합니다.

홍산문화는 무엇인가? 광의의 홍산문화는 9천년까지 갑니다. 세계4대 문명이 5천년 전인데 이것보다 더 오래된, 최소 1천년 이상 오래된 동북아, 만주 전역, 시베리아까지 포괄합니다. 이 홍산문화에서 동북아의 제천문화, 천신단 문화. 신神, God에게 천제를 올린 원형문화, 피라밋 원형이 나왔습니다.

소위 홍산문화를 보니까 옥이 쏟아져 나오는데 그 옥이 8천년 이전까지 거슬러 올라갑니다. 옥은 신의 순수한 마음을 상징합니다.

홍산문화는 중국의 황하 문명보다 천년이 더 앞선 것입니다. 홍산문화는 중국 것이 아니고 이것은 한국 문화입니다. 홍산문화는 기존의 전통 중국의 한족문화권과는 다릅니다.

Distortion of History 역사 왜곡

Korean history has been totally distorted by the Chinese and Japanese imperial powers and by historical positivism based on western science. And Korea has not overcome the trappings of colonial legacy.

Korean history and culture had been distorted and denied. After 1000 years of Buddhism, 1000 years of Confucianism, and 200 years of Christianity, mainstream of the spiritual cultures in modern Korea are Christianity and Buddhism. Korean traditional culture has been ignored and disregarded. Even young people and intellectuals do not have much interest in their own culture.

Thankfully, Daehansarang and Jeung San Do have worked to rectify these wrong by broadcasting Hwandangogi book lectures throughout the globe for many years.

중국과 일본 제국주의에 의해서, 또는 서양의 과학주의 실증사관에 의해서 역사가 총체적으로 왜곡 말살되었습니다. 그러나 한국은 아직도 식민지 유산이 청산이 안 되었습니다.

What is Cheonbugyeong 천부경

One of the holiest mantras in human history is the Scripture of Heavenly Code, which was first revealed to us 10,000 years ago. It is the oldest scripture and the first revelation in human history.

인류사에서 가장 신성한 주문이 바로 천부경입니다. 천부경은 1만 년 전 나온 인류사에서 가장 오래된 경전입니다.

The Scripture of Heavenly Code -천부경天符經-

One is the beginning, and from nothingness begins One.
One divides into the three ultimates—heaven, earth, and humanity—but its basis remains constant.
Arising from One, heaven is one.
Arising from One, earth is two.
Arising from One, humanity is three.
One accumulates, climaxing with ten, and nothing is unaffected by the dao of three.

Based on the two of yin and yang, heaven changes under three.

Based on the two of yin and yang, earth changes under three.
Based on the two of yin and yang, humanity lives under three.
The three ultimates—heaven, earth, and humanity—unite into Six, giving rise to seven, eight, and nine.
Everything changes through three and four, under the cycle of change of five and seven [ALT: under five and seven’s cycle of change].

One proliferates in profound ways, coming and going in countless ways, and these myriad changes culminate into a new unchanging basis.

The basis is the mind, whose basis is the sun, and thus the resplendence of the mind shines evermore.
Humanity, penetrating the mind of heaven and earth, becomes the Ultimate One.
One is the end, and from nothingness ends One.

一始無始一
하나는 천지만물 비롯된 근본이나 무에서 비롯한 하나이어라.

析三極無盡本
이 하나가 나뉘어져 천지인 삼극으로 작용해도 그 근본은 다할 것이 없어라.

天一一
하늘은 창조운동의 뿌리로서 첫째 되고

地一二
땅은 생성운동 근원되어 둘째 되고
人一三
사람은 천지의 꿈 이루어서 셋째 되니

一積十鉅 無匱化三
하나가 생장하여 열까지 열리지만 다함없는 조화로서 3수의 도 이룸일세.

天二三
하늘도 음양운동 3수로 돌아가고

地二三
땅도 음양운동 3수로 순환하고

人二三
사람도 음양운동 3수로 살아가니

大三合六 生七八九
천지인 큰 3수 마주합해 6수 되니 생장성 7·8·9를 생함이네.

運三四 成環五七
천지만물 3과 4수 변화마디 운행하고 5와 7수 변화원리 순환운동 이룸일세.

一妙衍 萬往萬來 用變不動本
하나가 오묘하게 뻗어나가 수없이 오고가는데, 작용은 변하여 바뀌지 않는 본체가 된다.

本心 本太陽 昻明
근본은 마음이니 태양에 근본두어 마음의 대광명은 한없이 밝고 밝아

人中天地一
사람은 천지 중심 존귀한 태일이니

一終無終一
하나는 천지만물 끝을 맺는 근본이나 무로 돌아가 마무리된 하나이니라.
What is the most central message of this scripture? One is the beginning, and from nothingness begins One. One is the end, and from nothingness ends One. One is the beginning and One is the end. It begins with One Mind and ends with One Mind. And the Taeeulju Mantra leads you to experience One Mind

천부경에서 가장 중요한 중심 메시지는 무엇일까요? “일시무시일一始無始一”, “일종무종일一終無終一”입니다. 일시일종一始一終. 바로 일심一心(One Mind)으로 시작해서 일심으로 간다는 것입니다. 일심을 체험하게 해주는 게 태을주입니다.

What is the Taeeulju Mantra 태을주란 무엇인가

The conclusion of the 9,000-year Eastern spiritual tradition is the Taeulju Mantra.
“Hoom-chi Hoom-chi Ta-eul-cheon sang-won-gun Hoom-ni-chi-ya-do-rae Hoom-ni-ham-ni Sa-pa-ha”

The Taeeulju Mantra is the wish-fulfilling jewel. The wish-fulfilling jewel is the Taeeulju Mantra. (Dojeon 7:58)

By chanting the Taeeulju Mantra, you can perceive impending danger in advance, allowing you to escape from all sorts of accidents and disasters. By chanting the Taeeulju Mantra, one will be blessed with invisible heavenly energy and holy inspirations.
Chant mantras continuously, while awake and while sleeping. Chant the Taeeulju Mantra at all times, and you will experience divine light at once suffuses in your mind and spirit. By chanting the Taeeulju Mantra, you can reunite with your late parents and great parents. Chanting the Taeeulju Mantra helps you to overcome your depression and relieves your insomnia. The Taeeulju Mantra heals your mind and soul.
Practice Taeeulju Mantra meditation, and you will enter the realm of enlightenment that is our true mind. We are sure it will be the most dramatic and unforgettable experience in your whole life.

태을주는 여의주(如意珠), 여의주는 태을주니라.

태을주를 읽으면 일체의 사고. 온갖 사고, 재난, 자연재앙, 불행으로부터 자유롭게 됩니다(구원받습니다). 다가오는 위험을 미리 볼 수 있기 때문입니다. 태을주를 읽으면 보이지 않는 신성한 성령의 손길이 하늘에서 내려옵니다.
주문은 끊어지지 않고 꿈속에서도 읽는 것입니다. 염념불망 태을주 읽기만 하면 천상의 빛이 마음속에서, 영혼에서 열리는 것을 체험할 수 있습니다. 태을주 수행을 하면 조상님을 만날 수 있습니다. 태을주를 읽으면 우울증에서 빠져나옵니다. 태을주를 읽으면 일체의 불면증에서 해방됩니다. 태을주는 마음과 영혼의 상처를 치유합니다.
