I: Hello, how are you?

Brandon: Good, how are you?

I: Doing well, thank you. My name is ○○○. Nice to meet you.

Brandon: Nice to meet you, too. My name is ○○○. What do you have here? Are you promoting an event?

I: Yes. We have a lecture event in three weeks which introduces the meditation method of Jeung San Do. Are you interested in meditation by any chance?

Brandon: Of course I am. I practice meditation on a daily basis!

I: Wow. What a coincidence. I would like to invite you to the event. If you can please leave your name and phone number here, I can send you the official invitation.

Brandon: Of course, no problem. Are you sending it to me by text message or email?

I: If you want, we can send it to you by email. And here is my name card. Please call me if you have any questions.

Brandon: I will. Thank you so much. I’ll be looking forward to this event!

I: Then I’ll be looking forward to seeing you on that day. Have a good day.

Brandon: For you as well. See you again.

I: Good bye.

I: Have you ever heard about the Taeeulju Mantra meditation?

Brandon: No. What kind of meditation is that?

I: It’s a meditation practice where we chant the Taeeulju Mantra. When you chant it with one mind, you can receive pristine healing energy from the universe.

Brandon: Healing energy from the universe?

I: Yes. If you have five minutes, I can teach you the mantra. Would you like to try it?

Brandon: Sure, why not. How do we start?

I: Would you like to try out chanting the mantra after me? Hoom-chi Hoom-chi Tae-eul-cheon Sang-won-gun Hoom-ri-chi-ya-do-rae Hoom-ri-ham-ri-sa-pa-ha.

Brandon: That’s impossible. It’s too difficult since I can’t speak your language.

I: Then let’s try to chant the first sound, ‘hoom.’ Hoom~

Brandon: Hoom~
훔~

I: Doesn’t the vibration of this sound make you feel more calm and peaceful? ‘Hoom’ is the fundamental sound of creation that embraces all other sounds in the universe.

Brandon: Okay. You have my attention now. Can you try to teach me all the words?

I: Absolutely! And I guarantee you that if you meditate with this healing mantra for about thirty minutes, you will feel relaxed and energized.

I: The core teaching of Jeung San Do is the principle of cosmic year.

Brandon: What is the cosmic year?

I: Just as we have four different seasons on earth, there are four cosmic seasons in the universe.

Brandon: Wow, How come I’ve never heard of this before?

I: This may seem like a new idea, but it comes from a thousand years ago. So if I may briefly explain, an earth year is a cycle during which trees and plants are cultivated. And a cosmic year is a cycle during which humanity is cultivated.

Brandon: So how does this affect humanity again?

I: In the cosmic spring, humanity starts its civilization, and it develops and diversifies in the cosmic summer. The cosmic autumn is the time for the civilization to meet its completion. And in the cosmic winter comes the Great Ice Age.

Brandon: Ah. The Great Ice Age. That’s good to know but what’s that got to do with me?

I: Well. This is a vital information that is closely related to your survival.

Brandon: Huh? Come again?

I: We’re now live in time of cosmic summer and cosmic autumn transition. During this time, a great change occurs in the grand nature and human civilization. According to Jeung San Do’s cosmology, this great change is called ‘gaebyeok’. And this gaebyeok also refers to the three major events that will take place, the war, the disease, and the pole shift, as the universe enters a new world of the cosmic autumn. And after we have survived and entered this new world, we’ll finally achieve our true purpose as a human being.

Brandon: What does the future world look like?

I: We can say that we are living at the end times of the cosmic summer, where material civilization is at its prime. But this civilization lacks the spirituality that must go side to side with the material civilization. This is why His Holiness the Taesang Jongdosanim of Jeung San Do said this world is a mere “half-mature world”. But the cosmic autumn age will be different. In the world of cosmic autumn, all humans will live to pursue their spiritual cultivation and virtuous life while fully cultivating the benefits of the material civilization as well in this fully matured world.

Brandon:It sounds somewhat difficult, but quite interesting at the same time. Where can I learn more about this?

I: If you can please tell me your name and phone number, I will let you know when we have the next seminar scheduled.

I: When you practice Jeung San Do, you can learn the true history of Korea and its spiritual culture as well.

Brandon: What is Jeung San Do?

I: It is a completely new teaching that was introduced to us by Ghang Jeung-san Sangjenim. If you learn the teachings of Jeung San Do, you can understand what time period we are living in now and what we have to do to prepare ourselves to become successful in the coming world. Also, you can learn how the future of the world will be unfolded. Plus, the mantra meditation of Jeung San Do will help your body and mind become brighter and healthier.

Brandon: Is Jeung San Do a religion?

I: Although we take a form of religion, Jeung San Do is not a religion, but it is the Way, the Dao. His Holiness Taesang Jongdosanim of Jeung San Do said Jeung San Do is the fruition of human history.

Brandon: Does Jeung San Do have a long history? I have lived in Korea for several years but this is the first time I heard its name.

I: Jeung San Do has a history of about one-hundred-fifty years. Its previous name was Bocheongyo in the period of Japanese colonial rule. About seven-million believed in the teachings of Bocheongyo at the time, and the number was about one-third of the whole population in Korea.

Brandon: Really? Then how come Koreans do not talk about it?

I: It’s because Bocheongyo funded a lot the Korean Provisional Government. The Japanese Imperialists were against this movement and harshly oppressed Bocheongyo. Many traditions and teachings of Korea were cut by their roots and distorted by the Japanese government.

Brandon: Ah ha. I see. Thank you for that. Do you have any handouts or booklets with information in English?

I: Of course. Here you are. It has my phone number on it. You can also experience our traditional offering ritual if you visit any one of our centers in the world. Can I also have your email or phone number? Let’s keep in touch. I’ll send you a lot of great information.

Brandon: Definitely. I’d love to join you. Here is my business card and you can call me anytime. I enjoyed this conversation very much.

I: Likewise. I’ll invite you for the next event.

Brandon: Thank you. Ciao.
